This is one of the most important festivals in Ireland. Nowadays Spanish bilingual schools largely celebrate this event.
The main objective is to learn about different cultures around the world, specially the English culture countries. Schools prepare different activities, such as songs, plays, dances, films… All these ones in English. And green color everywhere!
This event is a good moment to participate in international competitions. For example, at the moment there is a draw competition in Dublin. All children around the world can participate sending their drawing and the best ones will be projected on the most important Ireland capital buildings’ wall. The celebrations are from 14th to 18th March. (The competition finishes on 11st March)
It is an excellent initiative for children interaction and at the same time they will internalize the internationality concept in a ludic and dynamic way. Also this can help children to be concerned about taking part in the country group, Europe.
And remember that it is so important to know the language as the culture of a community.
Enjoy San Patrick day!
